# Job Summary
Are you interested in leading a highly committed team of staff working on important public health programming? MDH has a current opening for a supervisory position within our Vaccine Preventable Disease Section who would oversee day-to-day operations of the Minnesota Vaccines for Children Program (MnVFC), a statewide program that provides publically purchased vaccine to eligible children in their medical home. Ideally, we are looking for someone with previous experience supervising personnel and leading large public health projects. The specific job duties for this role include 1) strategic planning to best accomplish the marketing, administration, and implementation of the MnVFC program within public and private clinic settings throughout the state; 2) leadership and technical support for development and monitoring of annual MnVFC vaccine budget; and 3) direction and management of an ongoing project for quality assurance visits to MnVFC participating clinics.
## Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements to be considered:
Bachelor's degree in public health or a health-related field AND two years supervisory or managerial public health experience or three years advanced professional public health experience. Experience must include responsibility for budget administration; grant management; community organization/partner engagement including staffing of external advisory committees or task forces; program or project management; health education and promotion; immunization education and promotion; providing training and technical assistance to health programs; and/or interpretation of policies and procedures and federal and state regulations;OR
Master's degree in public health or a health-related field AND one year supervisory or managerial public health experience or two years advanced professional public health experience described above; OR
Bachelor's degree in a non-public health field AND three years supervisory or managerial public health experience or four years advanced professional public health experience described above.
## Preferred Qualifications:
Master's in Public Health or related field
Considerable knowledge of; public health principles, immunization practices, health care delivery systems, and vaccine-preventable disease/public health prevention strategies for communicable diseases.
Considerable ability to; direct and evaluate the work of others, coordinate activities of senior staff, and administer large/complex budgets and large grants.
Experience supervising nursing staff
